No
tecnologias Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR). Neste sentido, a
dispon{\'{\i}}veis na literatura.
biomassa para o ano de 2017 do bioma Amaz{\^o}nia no estado do
ABSTRACT: The Brazilian Amazonian
Forest has undergone an intense process of deforestation (forest
clearing) and forest degradation, which directly affects the
carbon stocks of this ecosystem. The degradation processes may be
caused by natural and/or anthropogenic disturbances, and may vary
in extent, severity, quality, origin and frequency. While
deforestation causes direct effects in the Amazon rainforest, the
effects of forest degradation occur gradually, affecting
persistently the structural conditions and ecosystem services. In
the Amazon ecosystem, estimates of carbon emissions still diverge
in the literature. This is mainly due to the limited availability
of data on the forest structure. An alternative for the
acquisition of forest structural data is the use of Light
Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) technologies. In this sense, the
integration of orbital remote sensing data with LiDAR can provide
new approaches for the generation of information on the
distribution of degraded areas in the Amazon, as well as the
development of new methods and models that allow access to
information on structural modifications of the forest (e.g.
biomass) in degraded areas. The main objective of this work was to
integrate multitemporal orbital remote sensing (Landsat) and LiDAR
data for the generation of live and total aerial biomass maps in
degraded areas of the Amazon Forest in the state of Mato Grosso
for the years 2000 and 2017. In addition, a comparison was made
with biomass maps currently available in the literature. To
quantify the biomass in this area, independent variables as
vegetation indices, inter-band ratios, texture data (Gray Level
Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) and images derived from the Linear
Spectral Mixture Model (LSMM) were tested as independent
variables. The results showed that data integration allows good
estimates of biomass in degraded forest areas. The biomass stock
for the year 2017 of the Amazon biome in the state of Mato Grosso,
presenting 4.41 Tg with a mean of 155.12 Mg/ha ± 44.91 Mg/ha.
Among the 17 years, the greatest changes were found in the class
from 0 to 50 Mg/ha, and in this class are the areas affected by
deforestation (biomass = 0 Mg/ha). The integration of LiDAR data
with Landsat images provided the elaboration of generic models
that allow the application in different dates. In addition, it can
explain about 47% of the total biomass variation in the analyzed
region.",
